Meet Harry...

the newest member of our home.

He's a one year old terrier(ish) and such a sweet natured dog. He's amazing with the girls, so far, and seems to have a FANTASTIC temperament. I can't believe I wanted to throw this into the chaos of our lives but he kinda stole our hearts and he needed a good home. And I decided he's just ugly enough to be super cute. We love him already.
And a few perks from adopting from a shelter....all up to date on shots and vet care, all dogs are spayed or neutered, and they're just so dog-gone :) happy to be rescued they just love you right away. (At least Harry does)

So, welcome home Harry!

Cousins rock...

and snow does too!

During our visit to Utah after Christmas we took the kids sledding and ice skating with some of their cousins. It was loads of fun. While we were there I kept thinking how much I miss the beautiful snow. And then we got home from our trip and I told my kids to go play outside and they had t-shirts on and no shoes and it didn't matter. So maybe I don't miss it THAT much.
(Thank you Dru and Jess for the pictures)

MERRY Happy!

Christmas 2009
Christmas Eve jammies.

So special to be apart of my nephew's first Christmas! Oh, how we love this little boy!

Christmas at my parent's house was simply wonderful. After being apart on Christmas for, at least, the last three years, all of us were able to spend it together. We soaked up every minute. We ate way too much amazing food, opened many wonderful gifts, played too many games of ping pong, took many long naps (mostly Paul), and just enjoyed being together. Santa brought the girls their Barbie jeep they had asked for which made for some serious fun in BooBoo and Grandpa's round-about driveway.
The Christmas spirit was alive and well at my parent's house, which was no surprise to me, as they always made Christmas a magical event growing up.
Thank you for such a wonderful holiday mom and dad!

Happy New Year 2010!

Happy New Year! Is it really 2010? I just can't seem to wrap my mind around it.
While in Utah this past week Olivia informed me that in order to properly celebrate New Years Eve you must, first, wear a pretty dress. Second, you must decorate cookies. And third, you must have things that make loud noises and decorations at your PARTY.
Thanks goodness Olivia's Grannie overheard our conversation. She and Aunt Lauri made it a very special night for Olivia. Complete with a beautiful dress (Thank you Grannie!), cookies to decorate (Thank you Lauri!), and noise makers. They even made party food and pulled out puzzles for some serious fun. It was awesome. And Olivia was thrilled.
We celebrated the new year, East Coast time of course, with loud noise makers, cheers, and laughter. At one point, while shaking her noise maker incessantly, Olivia turned to me and asked very innocently, "Mom, why am I doing this?" Oh, Livi, I love you.
And where did she get all these ideas about how to properly celebrate New Year's Eve?

Our New Year's resolution is to cut back on the cartoons.
