Christmas 2012

I love Christmas. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, IT!!!! And my children love it too which only increases my love for it! This year we threw in a couple of new traditions..... Loved. Every. Second!!!! Here are some highlights.....

We took the kids on a "Polar Express" ride complete with train sounds, tickets, hot cocoa,  and blankets! We drove over to a street in our town that goes CRAZY with christmas lights, all cued to music...its awesome. When we got back from our polar express ride Santa had left an early Christmas gift on our table. The girls were beyond excited that Santa had come....He brought us an Elf. (Yep, we jumped on that train too.) We named our elf Jack-Jack. He was the highlight of every morning until Chirstmas.

Abbi had a Kindergarten Christmas Performance, which was ADORABLE, and then we made gingerbread houses together. Have I ever mentioned how much I love kindergarten!?!

And, of course, we couldn't miss out on the Living Nativity. (Although we hear there's a great one closer to home... we might try it next year.)
My Uncle and Aunt happened to be visiting my parents and came along with us. My girls had never met them and of course it took Livi and Abbi about two seconds to discover how great my Uncle is. Because he is great.

(Still wears his suspenders and cowboy boots. A true cowboy and so, so very sweet.)

And then just like that it was Christmas Eve! We spent the evening at my parents home and had a wonderful laid back evening. Olivia was in charge of our nativity this year and she did a fabulous job. (I'm pretty sure she could run the world.)  Then home to our own beds to wait for Santa.

 Christmas morning...way, way too early...

And then just like that....it was all over. Sigh...
Glad it comes around every year! :)

Thanksgiving...

As always, Mom and Dad hosted a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday! And as always, I didn't take many pictures! But here is what I did get....

Kids Table

Beautiful Fall quilt made by Grams

Perfect table setting...of course....

One of our Thanksgiving crafts with the kiddos!
I think they enjoyed eating it more than making it...

Our master turkey fryer-er

Um.....our terrifying turkey carver??? ;)

The girls put on a little Thanksgiving show after dinner...

With help from Grampa of course!

And Booboo and Grampa surprised the kids with a new playground in the backyard...
So cool!!! (And it matches the house! NOT surprising! :))

Happy Thanksgiving!

Kinder Thanksgiving Feast...

Kindergarten is so FUN!!! And its amazing to me, especially living in California, that we are still "allowed" to dress up like Indians! So grateful our school is still teaching the thanksgiving story and encouraging our kids to be thankful!

First, they sang us a couple of turkey songs...Abbi was a puritan woman for one of the songs and with her hands on her face would say in a high pitched voice, "Mercy Me!" It was pretty darn cute. But don't ask her to show you again. That's a no-go.

And then they feasted!

I'm just not sure if I should believe her when she says Kindergarten isn't fun! ;)
